Bernard Cadène, a contemporary
artist, paints subjects that, for the most part, are very real. However, our perception of them can be distorted. It is in this case that we can speak of contemporary
paintings: the model’s strange appearance and the questions it raises. We can guess and distinguish but, at first sight, we are unsure. Contemporary art stems from the modern art movement, which covered the end of the 19th century and the 20th century. Modern art is at the origin of avant-gardism and the death of realism. Goodbye copy and paste and pictorial conventions, hello colours and shapes that suggest and disturb. Contemporary art followed the path of modern art by pushing the bpundaries a little further. This art is divisive and leaves those of us who are less informed feeling sceptical. But it never leaves you feeling indifferent.
Using abstract art to depict landscapes, human models, animals and objects, contemporary paintings stimulate the imagination and provoke debate. In fact, that is the power of this art form; it gives works a multi-faceted quality, allowing each and all to find their own truth through a contemporary work.
In each of his paintings, Bernard
Cadène, the impetuous colourist, combines and roughly underlines the main guidelines in order to create relief, imbalance, movement and dynamism. His innovative and eclectic collaborations at international level (Guide Michelin, Michel Sarran, Porsche, Occitania Region, Airbus, etc.) offer him a living, mobile gallery that continues to endure thanks to regular requests.
